PROGRAM DESCRIPTION : Our roundtable will center on issues and comments raised at our Fall Conference regarding the waiving of home inspections brought up at the Presidents Panel. Should ASHI respond and lead the way?

Next , siding materials have changed radically over the past 20+/ - years. Nick Carlson of United Home Experts in Ashland, MA will show us how to differentiate between poor materials and poor installations as he walks us through failures and discusses what composite sidings are available in today’s market ; what to look for when inspecting these new siding materials, and what is a prob lem now or will be a problem in the future.

Our 2nd speaker will be Chris Ambrosini of Boston Bi - Glass . He will discuss his company’s successful alternatives to replacing old or historic windows. He will speak to the designs and millwork in windows, how t hey “fit” the house, let in more light than “ replacements ” and what his company does to restore old windows. Chris will discuss old growth wood, rot, comparisons to today’s windows and building materials, draft - proofing materials and costs and cost effecti veness. These are two important topics for inspectors that should NOT be missed.
