PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Attend the “Meet the Pros” panel from 4:30-5:00 p.m. After our round-table discussion, we will begin with Andrew Collins, Regional Sales Manager with Huber Engineered Woods who will explain the manufacture of OSB, the differences between commodity OSB and enhanced OSB. Other topics will include reading grade stamps and span ratings, TECO and APA (the governing agencies), explanation of Structural 1 Rated sheathing, Exposure 1 Rating and warranties, roofing and siding applications, perm rating, outboard insulation and when to use vapor retarders. He will discuss insulation, ventilation and moisture management as it pertains to residential construction.

Next, Sam Nigro of Dudley Services, Inc. has been asked to return for a continuation of his presentation on managing vermiculite when encountered during the time of a real estate inspection and transfer. Topics will include where to find vermiculite in buildings, removal/abatement methods and data on the number of dwelling that have vermiculite in MA & the USA. He will also present on new requirements for an asbestos survey for residential renovations. He will also discuss the new homeowner incentive programs for Asbestos Barrier Mitigation Grants sponsored by Mass Save. He will discuss common locations where asbestos can be found in a home including boilers, pipes, ducts and flooring.
