After a one-hour roundtable discussion, join us as we welcome Jeff Ludlow of August West Fireplace Chimney Concepts in Pembroke and Hingham, MA for a two-hour presentation on the proper design, installation, maintenance and inspection considerations of gas fireplaces, chimney and woodstoves. Jeff’s company owns full-service storefront which sell and install a variety of fireplace and stove options including, gas, wood pellet, wood burning inserts and electric units.  He will focus his remarks on some of the typical safety hazards inherent with any fuel burning fireplace unit or stove including, creosote buildup, risk of carbon monoxide poisoning due to improper installation, cracked or broken flues or compromised chimneys.  He will also discuss the importance of proper installation of stoves and fireplaces in terms of fire safety hazards as well as proper sizing of units for home use.   Chimney flue lining options and the importance of installing chimney caps will also be discussed. 

For members with questions about the website or who missed the last meeting, we will demonstrate the features of the website before the regular meeting; between 4 and 5:00.

The Board meeting will held between 2:00 and 4:30. All are invited to attend.
